Hunting behind seasoned hounds while pursing your trophy mountain lion is both exciting and productive. Our hounds have the experience and drive to tree your lion even when tracking snow does not fall. I conduct my hunts from December through March, when the chances of tracking snow are best in Southwest New Mexico. While snow is not necessary, it makes for an easier hunt. Success rate is normally about 80 percent. My bear hunts are adrenaline-filled, heart-pounding, spot-and-stalk hunts or stand sitting over productive water As an additional opportunity, we have the the ability and privilege to hunt behind some of the best "dry-ground" dogs in the country.. What a bonus a bear can be on a elk or deer hunt. The Gila's black bear population has simply exploded and daily sightings are the norm. Archery or gun hunters are welcome. The Gila has great record-book potential, with most years providing an opportunity for every hunter. Lion Success by Year
